At Bibby Hygiene, we offer safe and secure disposal options for expired or unwanted medicines. We understand the importance of adhering to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001, which is why we provide denature kits for controlled drugs.
Our denature kits come in sturdy plastic containers with screw top lids. The containers are filled to capacity with controlled drugs, then water and a chemical sachet are added, turning the contents into a solid gel. This renders the drugs unusable and prevents misuse. We offer denature kits in sizes ranging from 250ml to 2 litres and provide regular service options on a weekly, fortnightly, four weekly, quarterly, six monthly or yearly basis, as well as adhoc service options.
For all other medicines, we provide secure pharmaceutical bins known as ‘Pharmi’ bins. These bins are colour coded and labelled for medicine waste, including partially used or out of date medicines that cannot be reissued. We offer Pharmi bins in sizes of 5 litres, 11 litres, and 22 litres, and can accommodate specific size requirements. Like our denature kits, we offer regular service options and adhoc service options.
We also offer sharps bins and boxes that significantly reduce the risk of sharps injuries and potential infections. These bins have a waste entry point specifically designed to prevent sharps from falling out and can be locked with a permanent seal once filled. We offer sharps bins with different coloured lids, including yellow for sharps contaminated with medicines (excluding cytotoxic or cytostatic drugs), orange for sharps not containing or contaminated with medicinal products, and purple for sharps contaminated with cytotoxic or cytostatic drugs. We have a range of sizes available from 0.5 litres to 22 litres and provide regular and adhoc service options. We also offer a sharps exchange service where our operatives collect your secured sharps containers and replace them with new ones.
Our theatre units are large square containers designed to prevent spillages, unpleasant odours, and the risk of sharps injuries and infections. They are available with or without a porthole for user safety and can be used for a wide range of waste, including clinical, offensive, or infectious/hazardous waste such as body tissue, organs, dressings, faeces, vomit, catheter, sanitary waste, blood bags, blood preserves, and large sharps. We offer theatre units in sizes of 30 litres or 60 litres and provide regular and adhoc service options.
At Bibby Hygiene, we understand the importance of safe and secure waste disposal and offer a range of options to suit your specific needs.
